When fabricating with a stainless alloy, there are typically four other value-added processes involved in the practice, including welding, cutting, forming, and machining. In many circumstances, all of these processes may be performed with iron-bearing tools, which introduce contaminants to the surface of the fabricated metal. Electropolishing is a perfect metal fabrication solution for removing these contaminants from the surface of the metal. A nickel-chrome oxide on the surface is made passive as electropolishing removes a small layer of the material.
